Wheat bought about one and a half times compared to last year
Farrukhabad. This time around one and a half times the state wheat procurement was made in the district compared to the previous year. A total of 33,886.49 t of wheat were purchased from 7990 farmers. However, 9,691 farmers had registered. In 1701 farmers could not sell wheat.
On Wednesday, government orders halted government wheat purchases in the district. For the purchase of wheat at the minimum promotion price of Rs 1975 per quintal, 41 shopping centers were opened in the district as of April 1st. This included 9 of the food division, 31 of the PCF and a mall owned by the Food Corporation of India.
There were orders until June 15th. Due to the lower purchase in the Panchayat elections, the last purchase date has been extended to June 22nd. However, due to the possibility that wheat could get wet, weighing was only carried out in the centers in the Mandis. This time the farmers got the benefit as the procurement target was not set. Last year, 23,109.34 tons of wheat were procured from 4,097 farmers. This time the number of farmers doubled and wheat was also bought one and a half times.
