Prayagraj: Art Gallery, Museum To Be Built On Curzon Bridge

Curzon bridge on the river Ganga will be included in the list of tourist places. An art gallery-museum will be built on it. A report has been sought from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) regarding the capacity assessment and technical aspects of the bridge. The report of the institute is awaited. Then the process of its demolition was started. However, now there are plans to convert it into an art gallery and a museum. Along with this, technical support has also been sought. Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Goyal says that its proposal has been prepared. The report of MNNIT is awaited. If there is a positive report, the construction work will be started soon after completing the formalities.

The railway track coming in the part of the bridge and the road passing above it will be covered with glass. This fully air-conditioned gallery will have many other attractions as well. Historical documents, artifacts will be kept in the gallery.

The tourism department will get the construction done, the art gallery and museum will be constructed by the tourism department. Apart from this, budget will also be arranged under Smart City Scheme.
