There are about five lakh consumers in the district. Consumers who pay their electricity bills honestly are not getting enough electricity. Due to lack of control over power theft, people are facing the problem of low voltage. Despite the efforts of the central and state governments, the power theft has not been stopped. Because departmental employees are also involved behind this. In view of this problem, the government is getting metering of every transformer. In the first phase, DT meters are being installed in IPDS Towns (Nagar Panchayats). So far, the work of installing meters is going on in Lalganj. Connections have been given to consumers’ homes from DT meters and modem transformers. There are meters in the houses, but someone steals electricity either by cutting the cable before the meter or by installing a straight cut. There is no monitoring of this. But now with the installation of DT meter in the transformer, it will be known that how much electricity was spent by the transformer. Along with this, the modem will convey its complete details to the higher officials. If the transformer and the units of electricity spent in the houses are equal, then if there is a difference, then the thieves can be easily detected by conducting extensive house-to-house investigation. was started, but the whole system remained in ruins.
