Azamgarh. There is a tradition of immersion in Varanasi, Haridwar, Prayagraj and Gaya after the ashes are collected after the last rites to save the ancestor. People go to pilgrimage sites with ashes and ritually immerse them in the Ganges. Not many people can do this because of covid. People do not choose the ashes according to the final rites in the city’s ghats. This task is now taken over by the Post.
On normal days, people select their ancestors’ ashes after they are cremated in the local ghats. After taking them to places of pilgrimage, they immerse them in the Ganges. Because of Corona, most people don’t choose bones. But the Post made the problem with people like that easy. By registering on the department’s Om Divya Darshan portal, any person can send the ashes to places of pilgrimage and immerse them. After registration, the bone package must be sent by express mail. Bone immersion and Shradh rituals are performed through Om Divya Darshan. It will also be webcast at a specified time and date. No separate fee is charged for this.
Chief Post Commissioner Yogendra Maurya said that after packing the bone, the address of the destination must be written on it. Then the sender writes his full address name, cell phone number, etc. Speed Post charges are sent to him. A bottle of Gangajal is also given to him by Om Divya Darshan.
