Following the inauguration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the MCH wing of the BHU will now have OPD for pregnant women, newborns and other facilities including investigation and recruitment. MS-Prof. KK Gupta said that in addition to the MS Office of the BHU hospital, the five-story wing with 100 beds, which was built for 45.50 crores, has both wards and the operating room. The preparations for operating the ICU-NICU have also been completed. Further services including OPD will be started in the wing from Friday. Even after the Prime Minister inaugurates the Regional Eye Institute near the main gate of the BHU, the benefits of its facilities will not be available. The building was built here, beds, oxygen pipes and other important things have arrived.

Apart from that, there are still many devices to come for use in the operating room. Regional Eye Institute Director Prof. MK Singh said it will likely begin in the last week of the month following the arrival of the required equipment.

  • Ground floor: reception room, emergency room, pharmacy, waiting room for patients, three elevators, a small operating theater, six clinics, three consultation rooms, three consultation rooms
  • 1st floor: 32 ANC wards, 3-bed isolation room, 10-bed hospital room
  • 2nd floor: 64 beds PNC ward, two private rooms
  • 3rd floor: Mother and new stable care unit 16 beds, Human Location Center, NICU 30 beds
  • Fourth floor: five-bed intensive care unit, seven-bed HDU, five pre- and post-operative beds, three operating theaters.
  • 5th floor: library, lecture hall, skill lab,
  • Upper floor – conference room with 100 seats
