Solar pump means means of earning:
Through this scheme, electric or diesel-run irrigation pumps will be converted into solar-powered pumps. The electricity generated from solar panels will be used first for their irrigation work. Apart from this, the surplus electricity can be sold to the Distribution Company (DISCOM) and earn income for 25 years. Another advantage of this is that the cost of diesel and electricity from solar energy will also be relieved and pollution will also be reduced. Solar panels will last for 25 years and are easy to maintain. With this, the owner or farmer of the land can earn 60 thousand rupees to 1 lakh rupees every year for the next 25 years.
Up to 90% discount is available:
Under this scheme, farmers have to pay only 10 percent of the amount for installing solar panels on their land. Central and state governments give 60 percent subsidy amount to farmers in their bank accounts. In this, there is a provision for equal contribution from the center and the states. At the same time, there is a provision of 30 percent loan from the bank. Farmers can easily fill this loan from their income.
Big benefits of Kusum Yojana:
The biggest benefit to the farmers under PM Kusum Yojana would be that they would get free electricity for irrigation. This scheme will reduce the dependence of farmers on diesel and kerosene oil.
