Petition Registered For Cancellation Of Block Chief Election Result

Chitrakoot. Samajwadi Party candidate Mamta Singh has described the victory of BJP-backed candidate Gomti Devi against the rules regarding the result of the post of Sadar block chief in the block chief election. In the court of the District Judge, the SP candidate has filed a petition against the District Magistrate and the Assistant Returning Officer, including the current Block Chief. The next hearing on which has been fixed for August 20. BDC SP candidate Mamta Singh wife Sunil Singh resident Khuta herself filed a petition in the district judge’s court demanding cancellation of the election for the post of Sadar Block chief or cancellation of the election result. He said that the petition related to this has been registered in the court and its hearing will be held on August 20. He said that the district administration had made 20 BDC writers under pressure from local leaders of the ruling party in favor of BJP-backed candidate Gomti Devi, the current block chief. Most of those who became writers are literate. None of them even asked for a writer. He alleged that he was defeated by flouting the election rules. This election should be canceled or a new election should be conducted by canceling the election result itself. Here was the result Chitrakoot. There are five blocks in the district. There are total 115 BDCs in Sadar Chitrakoot Karvi Block. In this election, BJP’s Gomti Devi and SP’s Mamta Singh were in the fray. A total of 110 votes were cast on the day of polling. Five BDCs did not vote. Four votes were declared invalid. BJP’s Gomti Devi got 56 votes and SP’s Mamta Singh got 50 votes. During the counting of votes, SPs had made allegations of deliberately declaring votes in favor of SP as invalid. SP candidate Mamta Singh had said that by forcibly making 20 writers, their votes were cast under the pressure of the ruling party.
