Shah Rukh Khan’s leading man Pathan released a while back and he hasn’t stopped filming ever since. Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathan, which also stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham was released on 2,500 screens in the overseas market. And just like the domestic response, Pathan has also received an overwhelmingly positive response from the public abroad. In fact, Pathan’s business in the UAE/GCC overseas market has been on an upward trend since its launch.
Now, after its second weekend, Shah Rukh Khan’s leading man Pathan, which grossed AED 41,909,044 [Rs. 94.27 cr.]It has managed to surpass Salman Khan’s leading man Bajrangi Bhaijaan which had grossed AED 34,681,000. With this, the Yash Raj Films production has now become the highest grossing film at the UAE/GCC box office. Apart from this, Pathan has managed to top other major releases like Dangal which grossed AED 32,200,000, Sultan which grossed AED 31,400,000, and Dilwale which grossed AED 30,800,000 among others.
Right now Pathan, which has little to no competition with new releases, is poised to dominate the box office window in its second week. In fact, business predictions indicate that the movie business could see a further increase in takings as the days progress.
