The Siddharth Anand-directed film, starring Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham, was released last week on January 25. Produced by Yash Raj Films, the film was released on 5,500 screens in the domestic market with an overwhelming response from the audience. This response, coupled with the broad pattern of releases, ensured that the film recorded one of the highest opening day grosses in history. After its huge opening, Pathan’s business kept its momentum in the next few days after managing to create new records at the box office.
In this box office report, we take a look at Pathan’s opening week collections and compare them to Deepika Padukone’s previous releases. Raise a huge amount of money. At Rs 330.35 crore in its first week, Pathan has dwarfed the collections of his other releases. In fact, Pathan, which has emerged as Deepika Padukone’s highest grossing in its first week, has even surpassed her previous release Padmaavat which grossed Rs. 166.50 crore, happy new year which collected Rs. 157.57 crore, Chennai Express, which collected Rs. 156.70 crore, and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, who collected Rs. 107.61 crores, among others.
Pathan is currently continuing his winning streak at both the domestic and international box office. In fact, going by current trends, the trade is predicting that Vyapar Pathan will continue its march at the box office. It won’t be a surprise if the movie business also sees further growth in the second weekend.
