Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s leading man Pathan has received an overwhelming response at advance booking desks across the country. As of Saturday night, the film sold around 251,000 tickets on three national networks, PVR, INOX and Cinépolis, for its opening day on January 25. Pathan debuted yesterday, 20th January, and from then until now, Bollywood Hungama has been sharing updates.
Within 24 hours, Pathan sold more than 2.5 lakh tickets on the first day, which indicates that the film will have a huge release. PVR, INOX and Cinépolis have sold 1,08,000, 93,000 and 50,000 respectively for the first day. Plus, the spy thriller will get the added benefit of on-site and on-foot bookings.
Pathan, on the other hand, has sold more than 5 lakh tickets across the country for its opening weekend. Out of 5 lakh, around 2.30 lakh tickets have been sold on the three national chains: PVR, INOX and Cinépolis. On the net collection front, it has already taken advance bookings of Rs. 13.50 crore, with the final advance for the first day expected to be in the range of Rs. 25 crores.
In the non-festive launch category, Shah Rukh Khan’s leading man is having a bigger opening than Ranbir Kapoor on the first day. Tiger Zinda Hai from Sanju and Salman Khan. It will be interesting to see if it crosses the mark set by Baahubali: The Conclusion, which sits at Rs 41 crore, and has become the biggest non-festive opening of all time in the Hindi market.
