Chitrakoot / Ramnagar. 61.98 percent of the vote was held on Saturday for 50 vacant posts by Gram Panchayat members in three blocks of the district. In the evenings, ballot boxes were kept under strict security precautions from all locations in the vaults built in Sadar Karvi, Ramnagar and Pahari. The fate of all candidates will be decided tomorrow, Monday.
There are a total of five blocks in the district and a vote was to be held on the vacant seats of 956 grams of Panchayat members, but all were unanimously because there was one candidate in the vacant seats in the Mau and Manikpur block areas. Voting started at 7 a.m. for a total of 50 seats in the Ramnagar, Karvi Sadar and Pahari blocks. Of a total of 7,411 voters, 4,594 exercised their right to vote.
In Ramnagar, 656 votes were cast out of a total of 66.80 votes cast. In Pahari, 1,890 votes were cast out of 58.33 votes cast. In Sadar Karvi, 63.82 of 3209, 2048 votes were cast. Vice-election officer Bhaiyalal Verma said the ballot boxes were deposited in the vault in these three blocks.
SP Ankit Mittal said the vote was peaceful. The counting of votes will take place on June 14th from 8 a.m. Meanwhile, the responsible inspector Kotwali Karvi Virendra Tripathi, PRO Dinesh Kumar Singh and other officers and staff were present.
