Padrauna. The city bus station turns into a pond when it rains. The reason for this is that the station area is very low and no drainage is planned. People even gave a memorandum to the country’s transport minister for its renovation, but it was ignored. The campus has been flooded for a week, leaving people standing on the street waiting for buses.
In 2011 the Padrauna depot was announced in the then BSP government. Since then, 21 buses operated by the transport company and 14 contract buses have been operating here. Apart from that, about two hundred other buses come to Padrauna. Around three thousand passengers take buses from the Padrauna depot to various cities in the district and other cities in the state every day. For this reason the Padrauna depot would have earned around three to four lakh rupees a day. In addition, many people in the district travel in buses that come here from other depots, which generates income for the transport department. Nevertheless, the condition of the Padrauna bus station is pathetic.
As soon as it rains, two to three meters of water are poured into the bus station area. Due to the rain, which has lasted for almost a week, the bus station area is currently full of water. As a result, not only do the passengers have to stand on the street and wait for the buses, but the buses also get stuck on the street because they fill the passengers. Because of this, Ramkola Road, Kasaya Road, and Kotwali Road from Padrauna Nagar remain congested. Passengers are often injured when vehicles hit them while trying to get on buses parked on the street.
The request for restoration of the bus station was made by representatives of the public to the officials, but the problem was not resolved. Citizens of the city also presented a memorandum to the Minister of Transport, who took part in a program organized in the city of Padrauna, calling for the modernization of the bus station. Other than that, people have made several inquiries to meet Sadar MLA and State Government Labor and Employment Minister Swami Prasad Maurya, but so far the situation has not improved.

When the money is approved, construction will begin.
A proposal to renovate the Padrauna bus station has been submitted to the government. Government approval has also been obtained, but the allocation of funds has been delayed. As soon as the funds are available, the restoration of the bus station will begin.
