During the second corona wave, there was severe oxygen waste in ten hospitals in Uttar Pradesh. These have both state and private hospitals. Oxygen consumption per patient in these hospitals was 20 LMP (liters per minute), which is much higher than normal. This emerges from the IIT’s audit report. An oxygen audit was carried out in these hospitals between May 3 and May 29. On instructions from the state government, the IIT had prepared the Oxygen Audit Operating System in the event of a lack of oxygen in the second corona wave. Fifty-three private and government hospitals were distributed to universities across the state to collect data on oxygen consumption and oxygen consumption in hospitals. A survey of 1,32,702 patients found that a lot of oxygen was wasted in ten hospitals because hospitals use two liters of oxygen per minute on normal days.
