Rampur. After the district’s village panchayats are ODF, the Panchayat Raj Department has taken steps towards ODF Plus. Wherever the cleanliness of the villages gets better, so will the income of the Gram Panchayats begin. In doing so, arrangements are being made for the disposal of waste in the villages, in which organic and plastic waste are separated. Compost is made from organic waste, while plastic and other materials are sold. The money that is received is also used for the development of the village.
The ODF Plus campaign was linked to the Swachh Bharat Mission by the government to explain the basic principle of how Gram Panchayats can increase their income by disposing of solid and liquid waste. So far the Swachh Bharat Mission has only declared ODF villages, ie open villages without defecation, but now the formula for disposing of the village dirt in the village has been given by ODF plus Village. Among them, works such as the proper disposal of the dirty water of each house, the production of organic manure by wet and dry waste, the 100% use of the toilets in each house, the production of animal manure products through the implementation of Govardhan Yojana in the village are carried out.
The village is made plastic-free. Speaking of the Rampur district, there are 680 gram panchayats in the district. Community toilets are under construction in these Gram Panchayats, while that work is complete in 578 Gram Panchayats. Here too, community toilets were geo-tagged in 454 villages.

The aim is to build six thousand toilets
The district was declared an ODF in 2018, but now the government estimates that the need for toilets may have increased in some villages. Whatever the reason. Therefore, the goal was set to build six thousand more toilets in Rampur, of which the department has only been able to locate around 1600 people. However, the department hopes that the new leader will now work quickly for this work.
Now that the district has been declared an ODF, work is underway to make it an ODF plus. After that there will be a communal toilet in every village and a garbage disposal facility in every village. This also starts the income of Gram Panchayats, which can only be spent on developing the village.
