Windhamganj. On Saturday night, Naxalites stormed the VRS company’s warehouse office and set fire to several vehicles in the Garhwa district of Jharkhand province on the Uttar Pradesh border. In this incident, which occurred in Ghaghari Village, Dhurki Police Station, many vehicles were destroyed and set on fire.
On Saturday evening, six or seven armed Naxalites arrived at the camp office of the VRS company, which is building Ranchi Rewan Road in Ghaghari village, just five kilometers from Vindhamganj Police Station in Sonbhadra. All the staff sleeping in the camp were taken out of there and collected in one place and set on fire after the diesel in the camp had been strewn on the vehicles. In the incident, two freeways, a grader and a roller were burned and two JCBs were badly damaged. The Maoists rioted for about half an hour. Then he went and warned of dire consequences. The damage is estimated at more than one million rupees in the attack. When the police department received information about the incident, they reached the site. Garhwa SDPO Pramod Kumar Keshari said armed criminals burned vehicles. The case is being investigated. Action is taken against the guilty.
Engineer was kidnapped a month ago
One month ago, on June 25th, in broad daylight, the Naxalites kidnapped Nagendra Singh, an assistant engineer at the VRS company’s camp office in the village of Khutia, and rescued him four hours later. He was kidnapped by Naxalites for a two percent royalty. Nitesh Kumar, the alleged zone leader of the Communist Party of India Marxist, had spoken by phone for the kidnapping of the engineer and said that the engineer was kidnapped for failure to pay the levy and failure to pay compensation for the purchased land, substandard construction. In the past, too, the company asked for the levy several times over the phone.
