Mathura: Vrindavan drains lined with silt, people worry

Vrindavan (Mathura). Although devotees from home and abroad can see the glow of Vrindavan around the Sribakebihari Temple, the rest of this religious city needs to be clean all year round. The sewers are lined with silt, which causes disease among the locals.
Three to four Crore devotees visit Vrindavan every year. The center of most of these are the Sribankebihari Temple and a few other important temples. In view of this, the urban society’s sanitary system is also limited to the area around the temples. In the rest of the city, the sewers are lined with silt. The bad smell that emanates from them in summer makes people live.
In those days, a lack of cleanliness was the cause of mosquito-borne diseases. The drains need to be cleaned in areas such as Gora Nagar, Radha Niwas Pulia, Rang Ji Ka Nagla, Char Sampradaya, Tatiya Sthal and Kishore Pura in the dense areas of Vrindavan. Municipal companies handle formalities in these areas in the name of cleanliness.
