Mathura. The sewer line being laid in the city’s Sadar Bazar district as part of the Namami Gange scheme has become a problem for the locals. Since JCB was digging in various places, the houses in the area constantly get cracks from waterlogging in the ground. Currently the landlords are forced to move from here due to cracks in two houses.
The Jal Nigam has authorized the Triveni company to lay the sewer pipe in the old area of the cantonment Sadar Bazar. For the past few weeks, the company’s engineers have been digging non-stop with JCB with no plan. Due to the excavations to lay the sewer in the old quarter, the old underground pipeline collapsed, filling the foundation of the houses of Vishal Sharma and Malti Sharma with water, which caused cracks in both houses.
Malti Sharma is said to have evacuated her house out of fear. Community Commissioner Anunay Jha said he had not received any complaints. Even so, the problem will be resolved after an investigation.
