
Mammootty’s Bilal: Director Amal Neerad locks the screenplay; Project to start rolling soon?

Recent updates reveal that Amal Neerad has finally closed the script for the lead in Mammootty, which is one of the most anticipated upcoming projects in the Malayalam film industry. Reportedly, several writers joined Bilal at various points, including his prequel, Big B writer Unni R. However, director Amal Neerad was dissatisfied with most versions of the script, leading to large delays.
The cinematographer-turned-filmmaker is said to be very particular about the script and decided not to go ahead with Bilal until he got the best version. Now, Amal Neerad is reportedly impressed by Unni R, the screenwriter developed for the Mammootty lead, and has dropped him for the project. If the rumors are to be believed, Bilal will finally start in May 2023 and will be shot in various locations abroad, including Poland. A big update on the Mammootty protagonist is expected very soon.
