Madhur Bhandarkar is back in the game and this time he is ready to show you the harsh reality we are facing during lockdown. The fear of the first lockdown is still fresh in everyone’s mind and we may never forget it. And now Madhur, known for making hard-hitting, real movies, is set for lockdown in India. A story everyone will be able to relate to and relate to. Bollywood Life exclusively contacted the filmmaker and asked why he chose to make the film now, after two years, when almost everyone has left horror behind.
Madhur opens up to BollywoodLife like never before
We asked Madhur if it’s the right time and he confidently replied: “Definitely the right time, I feel like any historical topic never goes out of style and people want to know more about it. I have seen the film turn into film festivals and get rave reviews. The film is meant to relive the trauma, but it is a story of survival.
The filmmaker, known for being a daring filmmaker, said the journey hasn’t been easy but he likes how it’s unfolded: “It wasn’t easy for me before either and there are a lot of people who have made these kinds of movies. Not easy to make .and subject I have always felt that my subjects are very necessary for the audience.I have made -5 films in my life.I have never copied any Hollywood film nor have I done a remake of any film or biopic.I have always stuck to the original and i will continue to do.i am a very simple storyteller and my story connects me with people.India Lockdown will be released on Zee5.Madhur’s latest release was Babli Bouncer alongside Tamannaah Bhatia and it was a hit on OTT.
