Mau. Four armed villains on two bicycles stole five lakh rupees worth of gold jewelry from a cyclist near the Nevada culvert on Muhammadabad Chiraiyakot Road. The incident occurred on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Police from Ranipur, Chiraiyakot and Muhammadabad Gohna Police Stations called the place out of their area. The victim’s FIR was not registered until late in the evening.
Meraj aka Golu, a resident of Mahpur village in the Mohammadabad Gohna Kotwali area, who is an employee of the gold bar dealer Vicky Verma’s shop in the Karahan Market. On Wednesday, he came from a relative of Vicky’s shop in Mehnagar Azamgarh and kept jewelry in the trunk of his bicycle. Near the Nevada culvert on Chiriyakot Karhan Road, four villains on two bicycles pushed his bike and began removing the jewelry after breaking the tail of his bike. When Meraj protested, the villains injured him by beating him with a gun, tore his cell phone and threw it away.
The police from three police stations remained involved in the border dispute over the place. The case was not registered until late in the evening. According to Meraj, the villains stole jewelry worth around five lakh rupees. He was admitted to a private hospital. In this context, CO Muhammadabad Gohna Rajkumar Singh said that he was not aware of the robbery. The incident was found to have taken place outside of his circle around the Jahanaganj Police Station.
