Accountant Gopalji Nirala was suspended following the news of illegal sand mining in Nagwan, Duddhi Tehsil area. On reports from the mining inspector GK Dutta, proceedings against strangers were also registered at the Vindhamganj police station. SDM Duddhi, who headed the investigation team, has also recommended action against the forest authorities in the case of illegal mining. A related letter was also sent to the DM on behalf of the administration of Tehsil.
Some villagers complained about the illegal sand mining in Nagwan. There is illegal mining and transportation by making room in the river. When the Mines and Treasury team investigated the matter, the complaint was upheld. The SDM said that even after Gopalji Nirala, Nagwan’s accountant, knew about illegal mining, he was immediately suspended for failing to inform senior officials. According to the SDM, there is woodland in Nagwan village. 150 cubic meters of sand was extracted by creating a path in it, 25 meters long, 12 meters wide and 0-5 meters deep. In this case, a letter was written to the DFO to take immediate action against the officials and employees of the forest office concerned. Together with the DM, a letter was also written to the government in this regard. He said illegal mining from the area’s rivers is definitely not allowed. Action is taken against those who illegally mine and transport. On the other hand, there is excitement among the illegal miners because of this action by the Tehsil Administration and Mining Department.
