In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, people protested along with congressmen by filling a broken street with water by planting rice on the street. Local residents protesting at Mishri Lal intersection in Dabouli said the 400-meter road from the intersection to the MIG colony had been in disrepair for 20 years. There are big potholes in the road. Due to the lack of drainage systems, the road has become like a field in the rain. Secretary of State of Congress Vikas Awasthi said most of the streets in Govind Nagar had collapsed.

If the broken roads are not built soon, there will be a demonstration by growing crops on the roads. City Councilor JP Pal said that many times complaints were received from city and county officials, but nothing happened. Women also took part in the demonstration.
