Etah. Lakh rupees are issued each year in the name of groundwater conservation. In the name of groundwater protection, only two ponds and two backwater dams were built in the Jalesar and Nidhauli Kalan blocks of the district. In the budget year 2021-22, the department presented a proposal for three backwater dams and two ponds. In the name of water protection in the district, only the name was worked on. Two dams and two ponds were built at a cost of around Rs 80 lakh.
On behalf of the Minor Irrigation Department, two control dams were built in the 2020-21 financial year as part of the district plan in the Jalesar development block at a cost of around Rs 40 lakh. Both dams were built in the villages of Budera and Hasangarh. On the other hand, two ponds were built at a cost of about 40 lakhs as part of the state groundwater augmentation-rainwater harvesting scheme. These ponds were built in Takhawan in Jalesar and Qutubpur Banthal in Nidhauli Kalan. There is water in both ponds.
