Liam Livingstone’s brilliant 49* off just 22 balls combined with Harpreet Brar’s figures of 3-26 in four overs led Punjab Kings to a five-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last league game of the Indian Premier League 2022. With this win, Punjab finished on the sixth position in the Points Table. They have 14 points, same as Delhi Capitals, who are ahead just on teh net run rate. With this match, the league stage of the IPL comes to an end and teh caravan would now move to the Playoffs beginning Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

Harpreet Brar, the left-arm spinner, who was out of the reckoning after the first two games this season, came back well after he was picked three games earlier against RCB purely for match-up purposes. In this game, he converted that good form into a Player of the Match performance as he bowled brilliantly and picked three wickets tonight. He finished with figures of 3-26 in his four overs.
Sunrisers made one change as they had to find a replacement for Kane Williamson and they played Romario Shepherd in his place.
As for Punjab Kings, they made three changes. Nathan Ellis came in place of Bhanuka Rajapaksa while Shahrukh Khan and Prerak Mankad replaced Rishi Dhawan and Rahul Chahar respectively.
