MI vs RR Highlights:Rajasthan Royals registered consecutive victories as they beat Mumbai Indians by 23 runs at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai to make it two in two in their IPL 2022 campaign as far as their first two games are concerned. They won the match on the back of a brilliant hundred by Jos Buttler and some great spin bowling from Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin who got wickets at crucial junctures.

MI vs RR Player of the Match: Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler was adjudged as the Player of the Match as there was no doubt that with him hitting only his second century and the first of the season by any batter in IPL 2022, nobody other than him could have deserved the award

MI vs RR Match Summary

Chasing the target of 194 runs was never going to be easy and it got tougher as Mumbai lost two quick wickets at the start of the match and reeled at 40-2 in the first four overs. Ishan Kishan then got along with youngster Tilak Varma as the two left-handers put on 81 in just 54 balls and lit up the chances of the Mumbai side before Boult got Ishan Kishan and Ashwin removed Varma with his slow off-spinner.

Soon Tim David perished as well and Daniel Sams was removed on the very next ball in the same over of Chahal who could have had a hat-trick if Karun Nair held on to the catch that flew off Murugan Ashwin’s bat in the second slip. Nevertheless, Kieron Pollard was the lone man left to win the game for Mumbai with 50 needed off the last three overs.

He failed to do so as with 29 needed off the last over Navdeep Saini only gave five runs and also got the wicket of Pollard on the last ball of the match.

Earlier in the day, after being asked to bat first, Rajasthan Royals scored 193-6 courtesy of a brilliant 100 off just 68 balls from Jos Buttler.
