Investigation into meter fraud initiated, MD demanded report in seven days report
Meerut. PVVNL caused a stir with a big game announced on the purchase of an Rs 3.25 crore electric meter. MD Arvind Mallappa Bangari, who is handing the investigation into the matter to the commercial director, summoned the report in seven days.
The PVVNL commercial department purchased 33 thousand single-phase meters. The procured meters have also been tested by Manish Kushwaha, the executive engineer who submitted the bid, while the official involved in the bidding process is unable to perform the test according to the rules.
Amar Ujala highlighted the matter in Wednesday’s edition, then the company’s chief executive, Arvind Mallappa Bangari, called Director Commerce IP Singh to inquire about the matter. After handing him over the investigation, he was asked to provide the report within seven days. Bangari said the official involved in the tender process cannot inspect / test the material according to the rules. So there is an error at the initial level. Further action will be taken upon receipt of the report.
