After the success of Hera Pheri (2000) and Phir Hera Pheri (2006), the third part of the installment is one of the most anticipated films. It has been in the news for the casting of its lead as the names of Akshay Kumar and Kartik Aaryan have been doing the rounds for a few months now. While an official confirmation on the same is still awaited, Dream Girl director Raaj Shaandilyaa has been approached for the project. The director confirmed the news in an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla.
“Yes it is true. However, I will take a call after finishing work on Dream Girl 2. I will be officially involved in the movie script as well, but when I complete my commitments. Discussions are still going on, but things will move forward after I sign the contract and be on the same page,” said Raaj Shandilya. He is currently busy with Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday starring in Dream Girl 2, for which he has completed 95 percent of shooting.
This is the first time that Ayushmann and Ananya have made a film together, and previously, during an interaction, Raj had revealed that his goal was to bring a new couple to the screen. He had said that Ayushmann had worked with many actresses before, but this pairing had never been explored before. “Also, Ananya has never played a role like this in the past, and she’s really showing herself on the new screen. We all get along very well on the sets and we filmed Dream Girl 2 in Agra and Mumbai,” said the filmmaker.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Suniel Shetty also shared her favorite memory from the Hera Pheri sets. “We were sticking to the hip while doing Hera Pheri. Priyadarshan (director) made sure that we get to see our characters. Zero makeup, no ironed clothes, comedy timing, rehearsals, Babu Bhai dominance, two action heroes who completely abandoned their body language and treated Paresh Rawal as their boss, the characters around him like Kharak Singh, Kabira …in general, they were very interesting. Hera Pheri itself was a very memorable shoot for us and from day one we knew we were on a super successful track,” the actor said.
