Unnao. The preparations to overcome the third corona wave are not gaining momentum. The project leader rejected the MP’s proposal to buy 100 medical oxygen concentrators from the fund, citing the guidelines. When planning to build oxygen systems in five hospitals in the district, the foundation work has only started in two hospitals so far.
In the second corona wave in March and April there was an unexpected increase in oxygen demand. Many people also died in time from lack of oxygen. To counter the situation, the government administration had started an exercise for sufficient availability of oxygen in the future. On May 13, MP Sakshi Maharaj, through a letter to DM and CDO, approved the purchase of 100 medical oxygen concentrators from the MP fund. In the letter, the MP had asked for priority to be provided for oxygen, citing the revised fund guidelines of the central government. He asked the fund to provide Rs 76 lakh to Vikas Light World Private Limited New Delhi. The District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), the node division of the MP Fund, declined the purchase proposal, saying that there was no constructor purchase in the MP Fund policy. DRDA project director Janardan Singh said that the purchase of the constructor was not in the guidelines of the MP fund. Therefore the offer was returned.
The plan to build oxygen systems in five hospitals in the district has not yet been fully implemented. So far, work has only started in the Bichiya and Bangarmau health centers. According to the regional head of the building authority, work on building oxygen systems in these two hospitals will be completed by July 15. The action plan for the construction of oxygen systems in the District Hospital, Maurawan and Auras is still in the files. AK Awasthi, regional manager of Uttar Pradesh Laghu Udyog Nigam, the organization that built the plant, said efforts are being made to place work orders for three locations. The work will be completed on schedule.
Unnao relies on Lucknow for the RTPCR test to confirm the corona. Because of this, one has to wait a long time for thousands of samples to be reported. According to the Ministry of Health, the report of 2362 samples is currently expected. To solve the problem, Uttar Pradesh and Bhagwantnagar MLA spokesman Hriday Narayan Dixit had 45 lakhs from the MLA fund and Purva MLA 34.80 lakhs from funds for the Morawan health center on the 20th. Even after the money is released, the necessary process is not yet completed on the GeM portal. The plan to buy an RTPCR testing machine is also slow at the moment.
