Health – Dialysis unit will be started in district hospital next year

Badaun. The dialysis unit in the district hospital will be operational by next year. After getting the guidelines from the government level, the hospital administration has marked the place. Necessary formalities have also been completed. The file has been sent to the Govt. The dialysis unit will be built on Public Private Partnership Model (PPP). After getting the green signal from the government, the work of setting up the unit will be started. About two years ago, during the tenure of the then CMS Dr. BB Pushkar, efforts were started to equip the district hospital with super specialty facilities. After this, the facility of CT scan on PPP model started in the hospital. The proposal of dialysis unit was also pending at the government level. Last year, a high level team for the dialysis unit also inspected the hospital. After this, a report was sought from the District Hospital Administration for the establishment of Hemo Dialysis Unit on behalf of the Health Directorate. The hospital administration had sent the report to the government. It was said that there is no building as per the norms in the hospital premises for setting up the unit. However, space is available for building construction. Due to lack of building, the government pulled out at that time. Now the hospital administration has a place along with the building. It has been marked. From April this year, the process was started again for the dialysis unit. The District Hospital Administration has read the related writing for this and after completing the paperwork has sent the file to the Directorate. In the process started afresh, the hospital administration has talked about the availability of land for the new building along with the building as per the standard. Three locations in the hospital premises have been selected for the unit. Apart from this, the building of the old emergency has also been marked. Had the building been there, the unit would have been set up earlier. The cost of setting up a dialysis unit is around Rs 15 lakh. If the district hospital had the standard building, the approval for the unit could have been obtained two years earlier. At least 80 lakh rupees will be spent on the construction of the building in the district hospital itself. In such a situation, two years ago, the district hospital could not get a dialysis unit. Kidney patients would be able to get treatment easily. There is a large number of kidney related patients in the district. There is no dialysis unit in any private hospital here. In such a situation, patients have to run for Bareilly and Lucknow. A person suffering from kidney disease in the city said that a one-time dialysis in a private hospital costs about four thousand rupees. According to the disease, dialysis has to be done once a week, sometimes twice a week. The cost of dialysis in government hospitals is negligible. There is a dialysis unit in the district hospital of Bareilly, but it is lying closed. In such a situation, it is a compulsion to go to private hospitals. Hemodialysis unit is proposed in Badaun district hospital. A report in this regard was also sent to the Directorate. Standard building and other facilities are available for the dialysis unit. The unit is to be set up on PPP model. The government plans to provide dialysis units to some hospitals every year.
