Sourcing of wheat has started in 37 PCF shopping centers in the district. In such a situation there was a lack of space as no wheat had been bought and no new wheat could be obtained. There is hope that wheat procurement will go smoothly again. About 60,000 quintals of wheat were stored in the PCF shopping centers. After the haulier has been selected for this transport, the officials and the relevant center involved in the procurement of wheat feel relieved.
It is noteworthy that this time around 53 shopping malls for wheat procurement were set up in the district. It has 47 PCF shopping centers. Transport and freight companies are selected each year prior to wheat sourcing. This time the contractors were selected as part of the tendering process. Because of this, the rearing of wheat has been delayed. Transport companies were selected to lift wheat in 37 of PCF’s 47 shopping centers.
The selection for the remaining 10 centers is expected shortly. The contractor has started collecting the goods from the shopping centers. About three thousand quintals of wheat have also achieved FCI godowns. Wheat procurement will now also gain momentum, as there is space in the centers. According to Deputy RMO Rajesh Kumar, the haulier was selected by PCF in 37 shopping centers. The wheat harvest has started. Wheat will soon be picked up from other centers.
