Hardoi. On behalf of the Hardoi Ex-Servicemen Welfare Foundation, ex-soldiers marched on foot from Amar Jawan Chowk to the Collectorate and presented a memorandum to the city’s magistrate in order to solve the problems. Warned that the problems should be resolved soon, otherwise the former soldiers will be forced to travel to Lucknow.
The memorandum from retired Subedar major Ashok Kumar Agnihotri, president of the foundation, states that officers have met several times on the problems of former soldiers and Veer Naris. Even then, the problems were not resolved. The main problem concerns the non-registration of weapons permits issued by former soldiers in the district. Many times the officials gave assurances that they would solve the problem, but it did not happen. Requests were made to open an army canteen in the district and to put up a statue of Colonel Harsh Udai Singh Gaur. Displeasure was also expressed at the public servants’ poor attitudes towards soldiers and ex-soldiers. Rudradutt Dixit, Mahendra Pal Singh, Kamlesh Dixit, Jitendra Singh Chauhan, Shivprakash Agnihotri, Rajendra Singh Somvanshi, Rajiv Yadav, Umesh Yadav, Ramnaresh Yadav, Ram Gopal Verma, Khalid Khan etc.
