Hapur. In order to provide pure drinking water to the people in 44 villages of the district, approval has been given for construction of overhead tanks. The government has also allocated a budget of Rs 120 crore for this. Pure drinking water will be available from door to door through pipeline. The working organization of Gujarat will be formed, while work will start from Himmatpur village this week.
Under Jal Jeevan Mission and District Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission, the government plans to provide pure drinking water to every household by 2024. Under this, the Jal Nigam had identified 67 such villages in the district. The department had made its DPR and submitted it to the district administration. The district administration had sent this proposal to the government.
Taking cognizance of the problem of the villagers, the government has approved the construction of overhead tanks in 44 out of 67 villages. A budget of Rs 120 crore has also been released for this. Under which the working organization of Gujarat has started the work of tank construction from Himmatpur village of Hapur.

Simbhaoli Block – Birampur, Atta, Dattiana, Himmatpur, Faridpur Gosain, Mohammadpur, Rajpur Mandhaiya, Saina, Todarpur, Bangauli.
Garh Block- Luhari, Fattapur, Dahana, Bhagwatipur alias Lisari, Khilwai, Algirpur, Sadullapur, Lodhi, Pooth.
Hapur Block – Allipur Mughalpur, Mirpur Majra, Allabaxpur, Alampur, Rasulpur, Abdullahpur Basantpur, Vazhilpur, Dastoi, Baroda Hindwan, Dadri, Bhatiana, Mahmudpur, Malakpur, Nan.
Will be powered by solar pump
Over head tanks to be built in selected villages will be powered by solar pumps. There will be no need for an electrical connection for these. In this way people will not have to worry about water scarcity.

There are many villages in the district whose groundwater contains arsenic, fluoride and other quality-affecting elements. Most of these villages are on the banks of the Kali river. People are suffering from serious diseases due to contaminated ground water here. But with the construction of overhead tanks, millions of households in these villages will get pure drinking water.
