Overhead tanks to be built with 17 crores in five villages
Hapur. Under Jal Shakti Mission, overhead tanks will be constructed in five more villages of the district. These will be constructed at a cost of about 17 crores. After the recommendation of the DM, the proposal has been sent to the government.
Work is going on for piped drinking water scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission and District Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission. The work is to be completed in the district by the year 2024 at a cost of about three hundred crore rupees. Under the scheme, Jal Nigam has selected 67 villages of the district. Recently, approval was given for construction of overhead tanks in 44 villages. A budget of Rs 120 crore was also released for this. Now the Jal Nigam has asked the government for a budget of Rs 17.66 crore for overhead tanks in five more villages.

Simbhaoli Block-Kaniya Kalyanpur, Mubarikpur Salamatpur, Fatehpur Matnaura
Garh Block-Anupur Dibai and Hasupura

People will not have to depend on electricity for pumps in all villages. All overhead tanks will be powered by solar pumps. The ground water of these villages contains arsenic, fluoride and other quality affecting elements. With the construction of overhead tanks, millions of households in these villages will get pure water.
