In the midst of the oxygen crisis, Kanpur can build 20 oxygen plants in the next two months. For this, 20 entrepreneurs from the city applied to the industrial directorate. Their general permission has also been obtained. The Industry Directorate will also help entrepreneurs get NOCs from other departments.An online meeting between the department and entrepreneurs to set up an oxygen plant is also proposed. The goal was set to start production in 60 days. Joint Industry Commissioner Sarveshwar Shukla said the demand for oxygen in the state including Kanpur is increasing rapidly after the increasing cases of corona. 54 dealers across the country have applied for the construction of oxygen systems. Efforts are being made at the highest level to get them going at the earliest. Around 40,000 cubic meters of oxygen are produced every day in these 20 Kanpur plants. This means that three thousand bottles of oxygen gas are produced every day.

It is estimated that one facility would cost two million rupees to build. In such a situation, 80 crore are invested. Deputy Commissioner SP Yadav said the approval process from various departments will be completed in three days. The city received 20 proposals for the facility.

Apart from that, Prayagraj, Bareilly, Aligarh four, Mau three, Kasganj, Barabanki, Agra Badaun, Basti, Santakbirnagar, Gonda, Gorakhpur Maharajganj, Lalitpur one each, Kanpur Dehat three, Unnao There have been proposals to build an oxygen system at one, one in Hardoi, one in Sitapur, two in Ghaziabad, one in Hapur, two in Varanasi, three in Jaunpur and two in Chandauli.
