Firozabad. Glass and mouth blowing workers have voiced their anger over the annual wage increase. If you believe the glass workers, the factory owners have not raised their wages in accordance with regulations in two years. Glass revolutionary Mazdoor Sangh has called for the district judge to intervene on the matter.
A meeting of the Glass Industry Revolutionary Association was held at Mahavir Nagar’s office on Wednesday. At the meeting, the glass workers and union officials said that labor laws were being violated in the units operating on Jalesar Road, Firozabad, Makhanpur and in UPCIDA’s industrial plants. The wages of glass workers have not increased in the past two years. Union leader Naval Singh, Bhuri Singh Yadav, said that due to the neglect of the labor department, the work in the bangle factories is 10 to 12 hours instead of eight hours. The glass workers demanded an immediate increase in annual wages up to 50 rupees. Otherwise a peaceful boycott threatened. At the meeting, Suresh Kumar and Salim Bhai called for District Chairman Chandra Vijay to intervene immediately on the matter. The meeting was chaired by Rajjodevi and chaired by Naseemuddin.
