colony. After about one and a half years, ordinary tickets have started for the Manwar-Sangam Express (04231) operated from Basti. This has made the journey of the passengers to Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj easy. With the introduction of this facility, regular commuters will be at ease.
About a year and a half ago, from 22 March 2020, the operation of trains was stopped due to corona infection. Later, when the infection subsided and the lockdown ended, the railway administration started operating the necessary trains, but only reserved tickets were issued. Due to the ban of ordinary tickets, passengers started facing trouble to go to the middle stations. At the same time, where the ordinary fare had to be paid Rs 90 as the fare of Prayagraj, there was a compulsion to take a reserved ticket for Rs 105. On the other hand, commuters doing regular commute to small stations like Tinich, Gaur, Babhanan, Maskanwa and Lakmandi were not getting this facility and had to travel by road. This problem was raised prominently by the passengers under the leadership of Manoj Yadava, a member of the Divisional Consultation Committee, from SC Prasad, CCM (Chief Commercial Manager) of North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur, who came to inspect Basti station on August 28. The railway administration had given assurance of solving the problem. Order was received for issuing ordinary tickets on Saturday.
On the instructions of the Railway Administration, the ordinary ticket of Manwar-Sangam Express is being issued from the Basti counter. This will provide convenience to the regular commuters.
