Full willingness to deal with floods
Dhampur. SDM Dhirendra Singh said a full plan of action to deal with the floods has been drawn up. A total of 99 villages in the region are affected by the floods. Of these, 24 villages are prone to low flooding, 64 villages are medium and 11 villages are prone to high flooding. 19 villages are affected by the Gagan River, 29 by the Kho River, 48 by the Ramganga River, two by the Nachna Kata River and one by the Fida River. Ten flood posts and 14 shelters were built. On which police and officials, personnel were deployed. At each flood protection post, the area’s supply inspectors were given the task of providing useful public items such as jaggery, wheat, rice, sugar, kerosene, salt, matches, flour, etc.
Harveli was broken in 2010
In 2010, the Harewali Dam collapsed due to leakage from the Kalagarh Ramganga Dam due to excessive rainfall. As a result, people were affected in 17 villages due to the flood situation. There was damage to houses and fields. Villages Araji Kandhala, Mahapur, Shahkot, Rafatpur Hulas, Maksudabad, Mubarakpur Tappa Bharti, Hafizabad Biharipur, Mohammadpur Jamal, Asafabad Bhawan, Azampur Jamnibhan, Aurangshahpur Narayan, Fatehpur Jamal, Tiparjot, etc. there were two to eight waterfalls in the area Foot.
