Jhansi. The residents of the metropolitan areas will soon receive free WiFi in public places. This benefit is available to people at Elite Square, Medical College, Bus Stand and Collectorate, including five of the metropolis’s parks. According to the state government’s instructions, preparations under Smart City were started. One crore rupee is spent on setting up Wi-Fi.
The state government recently issued orders to provide free Wi-Fi in 217 cities, including 17 subways in the state. For this, work is being carried out under Smart City in Jhansi. For the first time, five parks in the metropolis were selected for free WiFi under Smart City. This includes Laxmibai Park, Maithilisharan Gupta Park, Vrindavan Lal Verma Park, Kanshi Ram Park, Atal Ekta Park and Narayan Bagh. One million rupees will be spent installing Wi-Fi in these parks. The tendering process for this is in the final phase. Allegedly, work is to begin next month.
In parallel, the city administration has started preparing proposals for the installation of Wi-Fi in public places. According to company officials, the facility will be deployed at Elite Square, BKD Square, Medical College, Collectorate, bus and train stations in the metropolis. It is also planned to do this work as part of Smart City. Wi-Fi facilities in public places will bring great relief to people.
