In addition to stopping erosion along the banks of Yamuna, a plan to green and beautify the banks is being started. The forestry department has started work on this plan. If all goes well, Yamuna will spread with the scent of flowers amid the lush green surroundings on the bank.

According to the forest authority, seedlings of Kadamba, Peelu, Guava, Sisam, Morchhari and Jamun are to be planted on the banks of the Yamuna. To this end, the responsibility for planting seedlings is entrusted to the Rural Development Department, the Irrigation Department, as well as the Mathura Vrindavan Municipal Corporation of the areas Yamuna passes by. He also wrote a letter to the departments concerned about this.

Planting techniques are explained

After planting, it often turns out that only ten to twenty percent of the plants can grow, the rest dies. The biggest reason for this is also the carelessness when planting the plant. To this end, the forestry department will also provide the departments with technical knowledge relating to the planting of seedlings. This gives information about the rearing of the plants, the depth of the pit and the vegetation. District forest officer Rajnikant Mittal said the forest bureau’s intention was to create a green environment on the banks of Yamuna. For this it is necessary to plant trees on a large scale. We have planned to plant seedlings along the banks of Yamuna. The departments concerned were informed in writing about the plantation plan. Once approved by the departments, work on the scheme will begin.
