The problems have increased due to the rising water level of the Ganges. The construction work has come to a standstill for two days due to the flood water reaching the rail-cum-road bridge being built on the Ganges. The executing organization has started shifting its personnel to safer places. If this situation continues, then the construction work of the project will be stopped till the water level becomes normal. The work of dab slab and erection etc. of this rail cum road bridge is completely stalled. The construction work of this project is going on at seven locations. Except for the construction work of the bridge being built on the river, work is going on smoothly at other places. Even before this, due to floods in the year 2016 and 2019, the project was affected for about twenty days. Sometimes the work has been affected due to floods and sometimes due to corona infection. Due to this the construction period of the project has been extended by one and a half years. In this regard, project manager of SP Singla Construction, Amandeep Goyal said that due to floods, the construction work has been affected for the last two days. The work will be resumed after the water level returns to normal.
