Gondola. About 15 families who lost their homes due to the erosion of the Ghaghra (Saryyu) River have found shelter on the Bhikharipur Sakraur Dam. Half a dozen people put straw on the dam and some people on the side of the dam. The incessant rains made life difficult for these families. These families could not get help from the Tehsil administration.
Nanke, Khutku, Dharmendra, Dhode, Kali Charan, Kunmun, Ram Surat, Devi, Vindra, Sadhu, Ramdev and Ramkumar lived near the tower of Kevatahi under Elli Parsauli of Tarabganj tehsil.
When the hut was submerged in the river in Katan last year, these people moved from afar and started living with the family by building a hut. This year the waters of Saryu moved forward and washed away the huts of these families.
These families built their shelter by laying straw on the Bhikharipur Sakrour Dam near the village of Elli Parsauli, and some people have put straw in the field next to the dam. Nanke’s wife Meena, who ran a hut on the dam, said that the hut fills with water because of the rain.
Somehow cook food and live with his five children. Kewtahi Elementary School was canceled last year. The children have not attended any other school since then. Nobody came to ask.
