Flood situation in Kasganj due to the rise of the water level in the Ganga

In the Kasganj district, the Ganges takes on an impressive shape. Due to the constantly rising water level in the river, there is a risk of flooding in the coastal towns. On Tuesday the water level rose 15 cm. Flood has reached the fields. Farmers fear damage to maize and millet crops. The mean flood discharge from the Narora barrage has remained constant since Monday. The water continued to rise over the course of the day. The runoff from Narora continued to increase on Tuesday morning. The outflow of about 1.5 thousand Cusec water from the Narora barrage increased compared to Monday, as a result of which the water level of the Ganges at the Kachla Bridge stood at 163.70 at 8 a.m. The flood situation in the Ganges is expected to worsen on Wednesday. There is panic in the villages about the floods. The irrigation department says, however, that there is still no danger situation in the district.
