The water level of Ghaghra river in Dhanghata tehsil area of Sant Kabirnagar district of Uttar Pradesh has started rising again. Due to this the problems of 38 villages situated between the river and MBD dam have increased. The Ghaghra river crossed the danger mark on Tuesday. Due to the rising water level, people are getting restless. The water level of Ghaghra river has been increasing and decreasing for almost two months. Due to this, 38 villages including Gaighat Dakshin, Dholbaja, Suraha, Chakdaha, Gunvatia, Kanchanpur, Saraiya, Kharaiya, Daulatpur, Sear Kala are under threat. The agriculture of these villages has already been mixed with the river crop in its stream. So far, Gaighat has absorbed eight houses of the southern village in the river. The people whose houses have merged with the river have either stayed in Tighara or their relatives and are forced to take shelter in a rented house in Kuri Bazar.
