Muhammadabad. The demand was made in the public interest to complete the stumbling block that is being built to save the village of Semra from the erosion of the Ganges. Premnath Gupta, convener of Gaon Bachao Andolan Semra, wrote a letter to the Chief Minister on Friday. He said in the letter that the people of Semra, Shivarayakapura and Bachhalkapura have been fighting the threat posed by the harvest for 25 years. Efforts were made in 2000, 2012 and 2016 to build punches to avoid erosion, but the stumbling blocks created by ignoring the norms while churning were absorbed in the Ganges. Hundreds of erosion families still live a nomadic life today, with huts on the roadside and in the fields or in buildings such as state schools, ANM centers, etc. Since last year, a stumbling block of 600 meters has been built from Ramtulai. Even after a year, the construction work is only progressing slowly. It’s raining and only a quarter of the work is done. While Gupta complained about the rigging during construction, Gupta urged the CM that the work of the stumbling block should be carried out according to the standard in the interests of the villagers. Dismantle the building and take legal action against the perpetrators.
