Fire Breaks Out In The Bogie Of Kamayani Express, Chaos Ensues

Manikpur (Chitrakoot). A fire broke out in a coach of the Kamayani Express going from Varanasi to Lokmanya Tilak Terminal on Wednesday night near the Panhai railway station of the Mumbai-Howrah railway line. Smoke started rising under the train. Seeing this, there was panic among the passengers. On receiving the information, the TC contacted the guard and stopped the train. As soon as the train stopped, the passengers jumped to save their lives and started running. The security personnel present in the train, showing readiness, extinguished the fire in the wheels of the coach with a fire extinguisher. The train was brought to Manikpur Junction at a very slow speed. This incident is between Panhai and Manikpur Junction. On Wednesday night, the train was going towards Baya Manikpur Satna at its high speed. At around 10.30 am, some passengers in the general coach of the train said that even before reaching Manikpur, smoke and flames started coming out from under a general coach near the engine. Seeing this, the passengers panicked. Somehow the passengers carried the message to the train’s TC. When the TC informed the train guard, the train was stopped after going some distance. As soon as the train stopped in the forest, many passengers left the bogie and reached the side of the track and some climbed into the rear bogies. On information, a team of technical experts was sent from Manikpur station. The fire broke out due to jamming of the brake shoe of the bogie, which was extinguished. After this the train was brought to Manikpur at a slow speed. Then the passengers heaved a sigh of relief. Manikpur Junction station manager RP Paswan said that the brakes in coach B-4 of 01072 Kamayani Express got jammed, due to which sparks and smoke were raised. But there was no fire. Through passengers the train was seen stopping. Then gradually it was brought to Manikpur Junction. It was repaired by standing on platform number one. After this the train was proceeded further. Told that the train stood for about 30 minutes after arriving at Manikpur Junction at 10:40. After removing the technical deficiency, it was sent to Satna railway station.
