Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has tested positive for COVID-19, he revealed in an Instagram post on Saturday afternoon. In his statement, the 53-year-old filmmaker said he had mild symptoms and had isolated himself. “I tested positive for Covid. Was fully vaccinated but had mild symptoms. I was isolated,” he wrote. He added in his statement: “Those who have come into contact with me should be tested. Please be safe and follow the Covid-19 protocols. “

Madhur Bhandarkar is the latest Bollywood star to contract the virus. Other celebrities who recently tested positive for COVID-19 are John Abraham and his wife Priya Runchal, Mithila Palkar, Mahesh Babu, Swara Bhasker, music composer Vishal Dadlani, producer Ekta Kapoor, actors Mrunal Thakur, veteran filmmaker Rahul Rawall, producer Rhea Kapoor and her filmmaker husband Karan Boolani. Earlier this week, an employee at Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow tested positive for the virus.
Madhur Bhandarkar made his debut as a director in the film in 1999 Trishakti and won his first National Award for Chandini bar, with Tabu in 2001. He again won the National Award in 2003 for Page 3 and then for the 2007 film Traffic signs.
His other popular films include Fashion, with Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut and Aan: Men at work with Akshay Kumar. He has also directed films such as Company, Heroine, Caldenar Girls and Indu Sarkar, among others.
