Fatehpur. Due to the arbitrariness of the sponsor C&S, the Solid Waste Plant, which was built for 13 million euros, is being scrapped. Despite government instructions to get the facility up and running, C&S does not provide cost estimates for repairs. Three months ago, on the instructions of the DM, the community wrote a letter to C&S to make a cost estimate. Far from making an estimate, the technical team has not even visited the facility. The plant is to be repaired with the funds of the 15th finances.
With the help of the central government, the community built a waste incineration plant in 2007-08 to make compost from waste. During this time an amount of 13 crores was spent. After the plant was finished, the responsibility for the operation of the plant was transferred to the Etuz company.
The organization had to go door to door to collect the waste and bring it to the factory from its resources and prepare manure. Despite the agreement, EtoZ did not have the garbage picked up. In such a situation, the community delivered garbage from its own resources for a few more days. Later there was a disagreement between the panel and the company regarding the payment of the power plant’s electricity bill and the company left after the plant closed.
The facility has been closed since 2012. Valuable parts of the facility were stolen. At the moment only the structure of the plant is available. The community has set up a garbage dump on the factory premises.
DM has given permission to operate the facility
With the problem of waste disposal growing, the government has issued instructions to have installed waste facilities in state corporations. For this purpose, orders were also given to spend money on the 15th finances. In March, a meeting on the management of the plant was held under the chairmanship of DM.
The DM also recommended that the system be repaired. The community sent a letter to C&S in the last week of March to estimate the cost of repairing the system, but nothing has happened so far.
There was no agreement on bill payment
The waste disposal facility has a capacity to dispose of 72 tons of waste per day. In 2008, only 52 tons of rubbish was generated from the city. Nevertheless, there were problems with the operation of the plant. This is also one of the reasons for the closure of the plant. In addition, no agreement on the electricity bill could be reached between the committee and the ATOZ company.
