During the lockdown, Dorilal’s private company, a resident of Mahawar village, lost his job as a civil engineer. He started farming using the mulching method and focusing on water and environmental protection. Farmer Dorilal did his diploma as civil engineer after middle school (agriculture). Two years ago he got a job as a civil engineer in a private company in Noida. Last year in lockdown, the company closed and he became unemployed. Then he returned to the village. He adopted the methods he learned in middle school to conserve water during organic farming and irrigation. Using the cultivation method of mulching, he prepares crops like chilies. This method not only saves water in agriculture, but also helps in the root development of the plant. The soil does not harden either and retains moisture. The yield is also higher than normal.
