At a meeting of farmers and factions in Naveen Mandi on Tuesday, Director Suleman Farooqui said that the government had initiated a weekend lockdown of the state due to a corona infection. In this order, the wholesale market for fruit and vegetables will be closed on Sunday and Saturday by order of the administration in Deoband. During this period of spoiling farmers’ crops in two days, the general public is forced to buy stale fruits and vegetables at high prices. Because of where farmers and adhatiyas are suffering financial losses, people are concerned about Ramadan.
Farooqui said opening the market after the third day increases the amount, which promotes corona infection. At the same time, farmers Deepak Kumar, Mangeram, Deshraj and Kuldeep said that due to the closure of the fruit market for two days, their crops will be spoiled, with some crops also losing weight. He asked the authorities to close the mandi for one day instead of two on Sunday. Subhash Hora, Kalim Qureshi, Yameen, Fazil, Nadeem, etc. were present there.
