The Allahabad Supreme Court has sought a response from the state government for failing to comply with the 1999 order regarding the removal of tombs and other interventions being built in Chandrashekhar Azad Park (Bagh Company). The court has also ordered a copy of the above decision and the decision of the Supreme Court to be produced at the next hearing.A bench of Judges Pritinkar Diwakar and Judge Manju Rani Chauhan, hearing a PIL filed by Jitendra Singh Bisen and others, was told that the Allahabad High Court had ordered the removal of interference with a PIL filed in 1999. Against this order, the Supreme Court rejected the request for special leave. Thereafter, in 2014 the High Court ordered the intervention to be discontinued on a further motion in the same matter. Both orders have not been followed to this day.

Additional Advocate General Manish Goel told the court that Azad Park records were missing from the Horticultural Department from 1996 to 2006. Serious efforts are being made to find it. He asked for another two weeks. In light of this, the court has set August 9th for the next hearing of the petition. That day was also instructed to file copies of the 2014 and 1999 orders and records.

The petition says that many fake graves and other structures have been occupied in Azad Park. The district administration does not take any measures in this regard. In this regard, too, an application was made earlier in which the court issued an order and ordered the removal of the interference.
